At its meeting of 22 March 2021, Council approved Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015 (Amendment 15). Read the full Council resolution here(External link).

The new planning controls came into effect on Monday 12 April 2021.

The amendment strengthens the objectives and controls for air-conditioning and other mechanical plant equipment to ensure it does not clutter rooftops, detract from streetscapes and amenity, or adversely impact the significance of our Heritage Conservation Areas.

The DCP amendment applies to land within the Woollahra local government area as identified on the map in Figure 1 where the following chapters of the Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015 (Woollahra DCP 2015) apply:

  • Chapter B3 - General Development Controls
  • Chapter C1 - Paddington Heritage Conservation Area
  • Chapter C2 - Woollahra Heritage Conservation Area
  • Chapter C3 - Watsons Bay Heritage Conservation Area
  • Chapter D3 - General Controls for Neighbourhood and Mixed Use Centres
