Delivery Program 2018 to 2022 and Operational Plan 2021-22

Woollahra Council has set its direction for the future with themes that inform goals we aim to deliver for our community, which are detailed in Woollahra 2030. Council can then determine its priorities, to achieve these goals.

Some of Council’s priorities are statutory, and must be completed. An example of this would be waste collection. Other priorities are discretionary; that is, Woollahra’s elected Councillors can determine what activities to pursue. An example of this would be the decision to invest in the Kiaora Lands redevelopment.

Our priorities are a mix of core operations, projects already underway and new projects on the horizon.

Following extensive community consultation, Council resolved on 18 June 2018 to adopt the Delivery Program and Operational Plan 2018-2021, to support the aims of our Community Strategic Plan, Woollahra 2030. On 25 March 2020, the NSW Minister for Local Government announced a delay to the September 2020 local government elections to address the public health risks associated with the COVID-19 virus. This was resulted in amendments to the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), adding one year to the term of the sitting Councillors and extending the current Delivery Program to 2022. The next Council election will next take place on 4 September 2021, after which the Community Strategic Plan will be reviewed and a new Delivery Program developed.

With the extension made by the Minister, we are now in the final year of our four-year plan. The Delivery Program 2018-2022 and Operational Plan 2021-22 includes the actions that will be reported to Council for the year 2021-22. This document aims to plan and report on Council’s activities and progress towards achieving its strategic goals.
