Woollahra Council is making it easier for homeowners to understand how to make additions to their single-storey cottages or multi-storey terraces located in the Paddington Heritage Conservation Area (shown in the map below). We're doing this by clarifying definitions and further providing direction for development in the area.

Paddington Heritage Conservation Area

At its meeting of 11 November 2019 Council approved the Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015 (Amendment 7). The amendments are to Part A and Chapter C1 of the Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015 (DCP) applying to the Paddington Heritage Conservation Area.

The amendments include:

  • changes to the definitions for a courtyard, a pavilion and infill development
  • associated amendments arising from the revised definitions for a courtyard, a pavilion and infill development
  • new controls for side additions to multi-storey terrace style housing
  • various minor miscellaneous amendments.

The public exhibition was open from 4 September 2019 to Friday 4 October 2019.
