Be part of shaping the future of electric vehicles in Woollahra

Woollahra Council wants to be a leader in supporting the use of electric vehicles now and in the future.

At its meeting of 11 November 2019 Council approved the Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015 (Amendment 9). Read the full Council resolution here.

The amendment inserts the following provisions into the Woollahra Development Control Plan 2015:

  • updated planning controls into Chapter E1 Parking and Access for electric vehicle circuitry and electric vehicle charging points based on international best practice
  • corresponding provisions into Part A: Introduction and Administration to appropriately give effect to the amendment.

The new planning controls for electric vehicles came into effect on 2 January 2020.

This amendment aims to support current and future electric vehicle users in our community by making it easier to install charging points and giving the community better access to them. The amendment affects all new residential and non-residential development.
