Detailed designCommunity feedback and information from geotechnical soil studies used to create final designs for two courts with low level lighting on the site of the existing basketball court.
Report to committeeIt was resolved at the Finance, Community and Service Committee;
A. THAT Council note the positive response from the community consultation for two multi-purpose courts at Christison Park.
B. THAT staff continue to progress the project which will include:
i. undertaking detailed design of the two multi-courts;
ii. a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) under Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979;
iii. continue communication with Australian Maritime Safety Authority throughout the detailed design process to address any potential impacts from lighting; and
iv. given (i-iii) are satisfied, progress to construction.
C. THAT staff continue to investigate the multi-courts at Lough Playing fields and Lower Cooper Park with a further report to be brought to Council.

The REF for the project has been finalised and approved. The project is now scheduled to start in April 2020.
