At its meeting of 14 December 2020, Council resolved to prepare a draft local environmental plan to amend the Flood Planning Maps in the Woollahra Local Environmental Plan 2014 (Woollahra LEP 2014) to implement the Paddington Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan (FRMSP) 201, subject to the removal of nine properties originally identified in the FRMSP.

The updated FRMSP identifies 828 additional properties in the Paddington, Edgecliff and Woollahra area to be included on the Woollahra LEP 2014 Flood Planning Map. You can view the updated Flood Planning Maps here.

Council has been authorised by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment to make the LEP under section 3.36 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Following Council's resolution, the amendment was notified by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment on 26 March 2021. Woollahra LEP 2014 (Amendment No. 20) came into force on the day it was notified. You can view the amendment on the NSW Legislation website.

The public exhibition of the planning proposal was open from Monday 29 June 2020 - Friday 14 August 2020.

Thank you to everyone who made a submission on this planning proposal. The exhibition period is now closed and submissions are being reviewed by the Strategic Planning team. All exhibition documents are still available to view on this page.

    The Woollahra Local Environmental Plan 2014 (Amendment No. 20) was notified on 26 March 2021.

    The amendment amends the Flood Planning Map to include additional properties in Darling Point, Paddington, Edgecliff and Woollahra. This ensures that the properties identified in the Paddington FRMSP 2019 are consistent with the Flood Planning Maps of the Woollahra LEP 2014.

    On 14 December 2020, Council resolved to proceed with the preparation of a draft local environmental plan to implement the recommendations of the Paddington Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan 2019.

    A report on the submissions made during the public exhibition of the planning proposal will be considered by Council’s Environmental Planning Committee (EP) on Monday 30 November 2020, commencing at 6.00pm.

    In line with current safety measures, Woollahra Council will be holding this Committee meeting remotely using conferencing technology.

    This meeting is open to the public and interested parties may address the Committee.
