Plastic Free July: Choose to Refuse Plastic

Consultation has concluded

Calling all students!

It's time to take action to reduce the use of plastic items in our community.

Did you know? By the year 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean. Plastic waste is polluting our oceans and harming our wildlife. It's a big problem for our environment - but there is hope!

It's Plastic Free July and we'd like your help. This month, we're asking students from across Woollahra how they choose to refuse plastic. Do you use paper straws, re-usable shopping bags or refillable water bottles?

Share your ideas and tell us how you choose to refuse single-use plastics.

There are three ways you can get involved:

1. Get talking! Join the discussion to post your comments.

2. Show us how you choose to refuse plastic. Upload a photo of your favourite alternatives to plastic straws, cups, bags, wrappers -- whatever plastics you swap out.

3. Enter our "choose to refuse" art competition. Four winners will have their artwork printed on our garbage trucks. There are other great prizes to be won, too!
