Tell us what you think of our new Draft Code of Meeting Practice.

Woollahra Council has drafted a Code of Meeting Practice, based on the Model Code prepared by the Office of Local Government. This is a requirement for all NSW councils. Our Code must be adopted by 14 June 2019.

When the Code of Meeting Practice is approved, it will set out how our Council must conduct its Council and Committee meetings. The Office of Local Government has set some mandatory provisions, which our Draft Code must include, plus some non-mandatory provisions that we can choose to include.

To make it easy for you to know what you can comment on, the optional additional provisions in the Draft Code are in red text.

Making a submission? It's important to note that Council can only amend or supplement the non-mandatory provisions. Additional provisions must be also be consistent with the mandatory provisions.

Our Draft Code is on public exhibition until Wednesday 29 May 2019.
