Tell us what you think of our new Draft Code of Meeting Practice
Woollahra Council has drafted a Code of Meeting Practice, based on the Model Code prepared by the Office of Local Government. This is a requirement for all NSW councils. When the Code of Meeting Practice is adopted by Council, it will set out how our Council must conduct its Council and Committee meetings. The Office of Local Government has set some mandatory provisions, which our Draft Code includes these mandatory provisions, and also includes some non-mandatory provisions that Council has included which are specific to Woollahra.
To make it easy for you to know what you can comment on, the Draft Code of Meeting Practice is colour coded with a explanatory note provided on front cover of the Draft Code.
The public exhibition period is from 11 May to 22 June 2022. Submissions/feedback must be received by close of business on Wednesday 22 June 2022.
You can find helpful information on this page, including our Report to Council on 9 May 2022 on this topic.
Making a submission? It's important to note that Council can only amend or supplement the non-mandatory provisions. Additional provisions must be also be consistent with the mandatory provisions.
