Read and comment on our vision for the future of Rose Bay

Woollahra Council has developed the Draft Rose Bay Place Plan, a guiding document that establishes a shared vision for the enhancement and improvement of places in Rose Bay.

This draft plan has been informed by extensive community consultation with local residents, businesses and organisations; it aims to reflect the wants and needs of the whole community, both present and future.

We are excited to share the ideas contained in the draft plan with the community. We also want to seek your feedback on the draft and check that we got it right via a short submission form before Friday 14 January.

What does the plan include?

- A defined vision and guiding principles for the future of Rose Bay, for example vibrant village centres, culture and creativity, accessibility and sustainability.

- Recommended actions that have been informed by the needs and aspirations of local residents and businesses, for example provision of more parking in Rose Bay Centre and the streamlining of Council processes

- Identification of current gaps and opportunities that may be explored in future, for example flexible commercial space, pet-friendly infrastructure, small cultural spaces and urban greening

- Insights into how we can leverage temporary placemaking initiatives to gain better outcomes for our natural and built environments, for example laneway activations and temporary art installations

There are many ideas in the plan and we encourage you to read the full document to find out what interests you.

Next steps

All submissions made before the closing date will be considered in preparing the final report, which will be put up to Council for adoption in 2022.

Of course, further investigation and engagement will happen before proceeding with any of the recommended projects.
