Public exhibition of draft Rose Bay Place Plan
In 2021 we developed the Draft Rose Bay Place Plan, a guiding document that establishes a shared vision for the enhancement and improvement of places in Rose Bay. This draft plan has been informed by extensive community consultation with local residents, businesses and organisations; it aims to reflect the wants and needs of the whole community, both present and future.
From 24 November 2021 - 14 January 2022 the draft plan was placed on public exhibition and we asked for community comments and feedback via a short online form.
What does the plan include?
- A defined vision and guiding principles for the future of Rose Bay - e.g. vibrant village centres, culture and creativity, accessibility and sustainability.
- Recommended actions that have been informed by the needs and aspirations of local residents and businesses - e.g. provision of more parking in Rose Bay Centre and the streamlining of Council processes
- Identification of current gaps and opportunities that may be explored in future, - e.g. flexible commercial space, pet-friendly infrastructure, small cultural spaces and urban greening
- Insights into how we can leverage temporary placemaking initiatives to gain better outcomes for our natural and built environments - e.g. laneway activations and temporary art installations
